Burgers’ zoo is a new type of zoo. The animals are not just kept in cages, they are part of a complete ecosystem.
The park consists of four main parts: Jungle, Ocean and Safari.
Jungle: Burgers’Bush is the largest indoor rain forest in the world. Thousands of mammals, birds, reptiles and fish live in it.
Desert: a sharp contrast to the humid and noisy jungle, the desert is dry and quiet. It is the largest indoor desert in the world.
Ocean: coming from the jungle, you suddenly find yourself at a beach with the seawater nearly reaching your feet. The path slowly descends and the water reaches to your lips, and even higher! This is the beginning of a journey over the bottom of a southeast Asian coral sea.
Safari: and then, of course, we have Burgers’ safari, with an enormous savanna landscape, housing herds of zebras, antelopes and rhinoceroses. A bit further you will see lions and cheetahs.
In the zoo department you will find a large group of chimpanzee monkeys, but also gorillas, panthers and elephants.
Finally, there is Burger’s mangrove, also worth while visiting.
